Mrs. Mary A. Jones, widow of Barton M. Jones, died at her home in Elm Grove township Sunday, July 16, at 1:30 p. m., after having been an invalid since February, 1904, at which time she suffered a paralytic stroke and never fully recovered from it. She was born in Ohio in 1833 and came to Illinois when quite young, where in 1851 she was married to Barton M. Jones. In 1858 they moved to Iowa and settled on the farm near Spring Run, which continued to be their home as long as they lived, Mr. Jones having died in 1899. She was the mother of eight children, two of whom died in infancy. Of the six living children two. a daughter and son, both unmarried, made their home with her. Another son lives in the immediate vicinity, Another son, an Evangelical minister, is in charge of a congregation at Anita.

All the living children were with her at the time of her death. Two brother, Messrs. Enyart one who lived near here, the other from Princeton, Ill, were with her at the last. Her funeral will take place Tuesday at 11 o'clock, from the Spring Run church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. L. H. Wood, of Grandview, with interment in the cemetery near by.
