Columbus Junction, July 17 - Charles Richey, a young man about thirty years of age, died at his home about a miles west of town last evening at 9 o'clock, having been ill only since Friday. He was born and brought up in this country and was one of a large family, his father having died only a few months since. He was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He leaves a wife and two babes to mourn their great and irreparable loss. The funeral will be held at the home Wednesday morning, conducted by Rev. Kendrick of the M. E. church, of which organization the deceased was an earnest and faithful member. The cause of his death was intestinal trouble brought on, it was thought, by jumping from a reaper. A surgical operation was resorted to as a last hope, but in vain. The interment will be at Swank cemetery in Oakland township.
