Grandview - Elizabeth A. Mesho Tremble was born Jan. 1, 1820, near Harrisburg, Dauthin Co, Penn., and departed this life March 14, 1904, aged 84 years, 2 months and 18 days. She came to Iowa in 1849 and has since resided in and near Grandview. In 1850 she was married to Hugh Porter Tremble. To this union was born seven children, five girls and two boys; of this number the eldest daughter, Mrs. Azelka Jane Brandon, and an infant son, George Washington, together with the father have passed through the valley of the shadow of death.

The five children who survive her are Mrs. Parmilian Rebecca Lockwood, of Muscatine; John Porter Tremble, of Parsons, Kansas; Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Richards, of Friend, Nebraska; Mrs. Nancy Ellen Wagner, of Letts and Mrs. Nanora Anthony, with whom she made her home. She was converted and joined the church of God nearly forty years ago to her God and this faith she remained steadfast unto death. Funeral services were conducted by L. H. Wood from the Congregational church assisted by Rev. Wilson, of Columbus City.
