Page 1News was received at Columbus Junction Tuesday of the death of Joe E. Jean, at Cape Girardau, Mo. after a brief illness. Mr. Jean was president of the Hardwood Lumber Company recently organized by Louisa and Muscatine county people, and his old home was at Conesville. He was sick only five days. He leaves a wife, a daughter of Leander McKee, of Conesville, and four children. The remains were taken to Conesville for burial.
