On Sunday, April 12 at her home in Columbus City, occurred the death of Mrs. Harriet M. Garner. She was born in Maryland June 18, 1818. She was married to Col. W. W. Garner January 24, 1840. For more than sixty years Mrs. Garner has been a resident of Columbus City. Her husband has been dead for a number of years. She was the mother of nine children, only four of whom are living. These are J. W. Garner, Mrs. Frank Colton and Miss Virginia Garner of Columbus City and Mrs. G. W. James, of San Jose, California. Mrs. Garner was ill only a short time, the disease being pneumonia. The funeral occurred Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G. F. Cannom.
