Ona Kuder Taylor was born May 6, 1863, in Louisa county, Iowa. She made a profession of faith and united with the Presbyterian church at Columbus Junction. Being of a talented and ambitious disposition she traveled extensively in the interest of various publishing houses holding at times exalted positions of trust. She was united in marriage to Chas. G. Taylor April 27, 1892 at Pittsburg, Pa., returning to Louisa county. They settled on the farm of her father G. W. Kuder, where she resided until the time of her death which occurred Aug. 26, 1897, at the age of 34 years, 3 months and 20 days.

She is at rest and now sleeps by the side of her little boy that died almost a year ago. She was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves her husband and two children to mourn her untimely death. The funeral occurred Saturday Aug. 28 from the Indian Creek schoolhouse. The services being conducted by Rev. Cooper, of Columbus Junction. The remains were laid to rest in the Indian Creek cemetery. Aside from her husband and two children, Ona leaves her father, mother, five brothers and four sisters to mourn her loss.
