Jeremiah B. Croll died at his late home in this city, last Thursday p. m. May 31. He had been in failing health for a long time, and had, himself calmly talked of and arranged for the inevitable by providing for all the little details of his burial, as well by disposing by will of his property. He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Nov. 27, 1812 and had therefore passed his 81st mile stone. He served in Co. K., 1st Missouri Engineers in the late war. He left his property to Taylor Post, and in a letter of instruction he directed the Post to take charge of his funeral. The directions were strictly carried out, the funeral occurring from the German M.E. church Sunday p. m. The sermon was preached by Rev, Knehans. A large procession accompanied the remains to the cemetery. He was a brother of the aged Mrs. Hunsicker.
