Louisa county lost another one of its best citizens last Monday in the death of Seth C. Curtis at his home in Columbus Junction. A little more than two weeks before his death he was stricken with paralysis of the brains, since which time his death has been expected almost daily. He had been in failing health for more than a year. Mr. Curtis was born in Steuben county, N. Y. and came to this county in 1855. He engaged in farming and stock raising and for many years was one of the largest shippers in the county. Recently he moved from his fine Concord township home to Columbus Junction. He was a life long Republic, Wapello, Iowaan, an earnest prohibitionist and consistent Christian. The funeral services were conducted at the M. E. church at Columbus Junction yesterday by Rev. M. J. Rusey and the interment took place at Letts.
