Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Odle, who live three miles south west of town on D. Key's farm had the sad misfortune of losing their little daughter, Anna Laura, who was 7 years old the 7th of May. She had been sick for some time, immediate cause of her death being lung complication, caused by whooping cough. She was a bright and winsome child, greatly loved by her mates and a favorite with her teachers.

Her funeral occured from the Long Creek church on Sunday at 11 o'clock, Rev. W. R. Woodruff and Rev. Jones officiating. The services were largely attended which was expressive of the esteem in which both the child and parents are held by their neighbors.
