The remains of Chas. W. Bras, Esq. arrived Tuesday morning on the train from the north. A telegram received by Mayor Hale on Monday was the first that was known here of his sickness and his death was therefore a surprise and shock to his friends. He was sick only about a week, Mr. Bras was born in Ohio, but came to this county with his parents in an early day, settling in Jefferson township. After the war he located in New Boston, where he continued to live until about three years ago when he removed to Mitchell, S. D. to be near his children. He was a lawyer by profession, was considered a wise and conscientious counselor, a kind neighbor and a good citizen. He leaves three sons and one daughter, an aged wife and a large circle of connections. His remains were interred in the Mallory cemetery Tuesday.
