Mrs. Keziah Reeder Shipman youngest daughter of John and Elizabeth Reeder was born May 9, 1813, at Alleghany City, Pa. She was married to John Bird Shipman, Oct. 20, 1831. They resided in what is known as the Limestone valley, Northumberland co., Pa. where they were active and prominent members of the M. E. church. In 1858, April 12th, they left Milton, Pa. and located in Louisa county, Iowa, near Wapello where on Dec, 10, 1858 the father passed to his reward. For the past 32 years she has resided near Wapello.

She was the mother of ten children:
Jacob Shipman, who died July 10, 1890, at Sunbury, Pa.

Anna Reeder and Mary C. Shipman of Narka, Kansas.

Rev. A. B. Shipman, a member of the Des Moines Conference, stationed at Bridgewater, Adair County, Ia.

Joseph R., Peter O., Oliver E., and John W. reside in Louisa county, Ia.

Emily R. died July 30, 1864.

Mother Shipman was a devoted wife and mother. Her religious experience was of the clearest and most satisfactory type. A loyal Methodist, yet very charitable toward those of other faiths.
