Died at his home in Morning Sun, Ia, Tuesday Feby 23d, 1892, John Ross, in the 72nd year of his age. Mr. Ross was born in Clermont Co., Ohio, March 19th, 1820. He was married to Miss Debora Ireton in 1843, and together they moved to Louisa County in 1855, settling in Marshall township where they continued to make their home, until 8 years ago they moved to Morning Sun. They had born to them 8 children, 5 of whom are living, two sons and three daughters.

In early life Mr. Ross united with the M. E. church with which he lived in full and hearty fellowship until his death. Mr. Ross was a man of rugged, plain, honest character, upright walk and sympathetic nature. For several years he has been suffering from Bright's disease, but by dieting and observing regular habits his naturally strong physical frame resisted the usually rapid inroads that disease makes, and not until a severe attack of the grip prostrated him, was his condition considered critical. The funeral occurred last Thursday.
