Grandview, May 8 We gave notice last week of the recovery of J. S. Curtis' little boy from diphtheria, but regret to give notice this week of the death of his wife and eldest daughter, Lizzie, from the same dread disease. Mrs. Martha Curtis was born in 1849 and was the daughter of Mrs. Crossman. She has been in poor health for some time and the close care needed in the sickness of her little boy together with the disease was too much for her. She died Tuesday morning at 5 o'clock. The funeral took place at 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

The daughter Lizzie went to visit her sister, Mrs. Ingram at Conesville, one week ago Friday when she took sick. She died Tuesday morning about an hour after her mother died. Her remains were brought over the evening of the same day and was laid by the side of the fresh grave of her mother. She was 15 years of age. There are three left at the home, the father, little boy and one little girl.
