The sixteen months old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Thomas, was stricken with that scourge, diphtheria, and after but a few days stricken died the morning of January 5th, 1891. She was a sweet child, the one bright ray, the chiefest joy of that house now darkened. The funeral occurred at the house Monday afternoon at three o'clock and the remains were followed by many deeply sympathizing friends to their resting place in the cemetery.
