Died at her home near Wapello, Sunday Oct. 12th, 1890, Rachel Bell, aged 92 years, 8 months, and 23 days. She was born in Sommerset Co. Jany, 19th, 1798. Her maiden name was Kemp. She was united in marriage to Samuel Bell, Feb. 13th, 1817, at Millbrook, Wayne county Ohio. Mrs. Bell and the husband united with the Christian Church in the year 1830 and continued faithful to the end. They came to Iowa in 1836 and to Wapello in 1856. Her husband died a little more than two years ago, and the time since his death has hung heavily on her till the only release possible came to her in death. She will be remembered by her many friends as a kind and good woman. Funeral services were conducted at her house Oct. 13, 1890, by Rev. Goodrich, of the M. E. church.
