Page 4Daniel G. Thomas died at his home in this place, Tuesday, December 10. He was born in Carmarthin, Wales, January 1, 1827, came to this country on reaching manhood and on November 24, 1857, at Quincy, Ill., married Miss Eliza Morris. This union was blessed with ten children, on girl and nine boys. Mrs. Thomas, five sons and the daughter survive the deceased.
He came to Wapello in 1868. We believe he never took our naturalization papers. He was an excellent citizen, a good neighbor and a kind man in his family, where his loss is severely felt. The funeral took place at the house yesterday at 2 o'clock.
