The death of Mrs. Elizabeth Douglas occurred on Decoration day at the home of her son, Jim Porter. The Saturday previous to her death she was stricken with paralysis. She had reached the age of 75 yeas, 1 month and 11 days. She was twice married, the first time to William Porter in 1872 and who died in 1874. In 1876 she was married to John Douglas. She is survived by one son, James Porter of Conesville and one daughter, Della Flake, of near Muscatine, besides four step children two brothers, Charles Wenman, of Tiffin, Iowa and John Wenman, of Chicago, Ill. fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Friday afternoon in the Grace Reformed church conducted by Rev. Schaffer, of Cranston with interment in the Conesville cemetery.
