Mrs. Pierce McNamer. Sarah Evalina Whisler, daughter of Elder Isaac and Elizabeth Whisler and widow of the late Franklin Pierce McNamer, who died September 27, 1919, passed away at the home of her nephew, E. E. Shellabarger, in Concord township, Saturday evening, at 6:35 after an illness of four months. She was aged seventy years and four days. She was born at Dalton, in Wayne county, Ohio, March 6, 1853 coming with her parents to Louisa county when she was three years of age. She was united in marriage to Franklin Pierce McNamer June 6, 1872 at Muscatine, Iowa. She was a kind and loving mother and a friend to all.

She is survived by three children, Mrs. Almon Cross, of Columbus Junction, Roy and Frank, of Dubuque, all of whom were at her bedside at her death. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. C.B. Shellabarger of Fredonia and twelve grandchildren, besides a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Pleasant Grove Bethel church, conducted by Rev. C. L. Wilson, of Wapello. Interment was made in the Indian Creek cemetery.
