Wapello, Ia, Jan3. - Oliver E. Shipman, aged 76 died here today at the home of his son from diseases incident to old age. Mr. Shipman was born in Sunbury, Pa., Jan. 23, 1846. He would soon reach his seventy-eighth birthday. He was married to Mandie Joy, April 1, 1870. Mrs. Shipman died Feb. 21, 1901. Three sons and two daughters survive their father. They are Edgar of Milwaukee, Ore., Ralph W. of Wapello, Leonard J. of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Frank Ives of Kansas City and Mrs. Gladys Clark of Maynard, Ia. The funeral will be held Friday at 2 p. m. the First Methodist Episcopal church. Rev. O. E. McBride will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Wapello cemetery.
