Lone Oak- The death of Miss Edith Boulton which occurred at the home of James Robertson. Miss Edith Minnie Boulton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Boulton, of Lone Oak Neighborhood was born June 14, 1898 and died February 3, 1922 about 8:30 o'clock after a short illness. She attended school at Lone Oak and continued her school work at Columbus Junction high school and graduated in the class of 1918 as valedictorian. She taught school one year at Pleasant View. The next fall she entered Coe college of Cedar Rapids and remained there two years. Last fall she commenced teaching at Old Clifton.

She leaves to mourn her death besides her parents, four brothers, Berne, Lloyd, Floyd and George Jr., three sisters, Mrs. Hilton Hanft, of Columbus City and Velma and Esther at home. Short services were held at the house at one o'clock and the body taken to Columbus City where the funeral was held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the United Bretheran church. The services were in charge of Rev. Samuel Dezell, assisted by Rev. R. J. Alfred of Riverside. Interment was made in the Columbus City cemetery.
