Lloyd Marshall died at the county farm at 6 o'clock Wednesday evening March 23, as a result of injuries received in a runaway March 11. Mr. Marshall was born in Cairo, Iowa, eighteen years ago, but had resided in Wapello most of his life. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Delia Marshall, one brother, Floyd and a sister, Mrs. Beatrice Hank, all of Wapello. Funeral services were held Friday at Wapello.

The runaway which caused the injuries which resulted in his death occurred while he was hauling a load of hay, The horses became frightened and bolted, throwing Mr. Marshall from the load. He was struck in the chest by a heavy beam and later picked up unconscious. He was taken to a physician. After a short time he apparently recovered and returned to his work on the farm. On Monday he complained of severe pains in his back and gradually continued to grow worse until his death.
