Mrs. Katherine Cone, widow of the late Dr. W. D. Cone, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. W. Fields, at Kimberly, Minn., Tuesday, April 1, 1913. Mrs. Cone was the daughter of Richard Lord, who for many years was one of the best known men in the western part of Muscatine county. She was an ambitious and energetic woman and had many friends. She was born April 21, 1844 and resided in the vicinity of Cone until about a year ago when she moved to Minnesota. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years. She is survived by her daughter at whose home her death occurred and one sister, Mrs. M. P. McKeown of Cone and one brother, Richard Lord, of near Nichols. She is also survived by three grandchildren. The remains were brought to Conesville for interment and the funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock at the Reformed church this afternoon.
