The friends of Charley Edwards in this city were deeply grieved Saturday morning to learn of his death, Friday evening, March 14, 1913, at Cedar Rapids, in a hospital in that city, where he had been taken after being stricken with pneumonia. Charles David Edwards was born June 23, 1878 and spent most of his life in this vicinity. He was an industrious and honest young man. He was married December 24, 1895, to Miss Clara Hainey of Wapello and to them were born two children, who with his wife survive him. He is also survived by his father, Frank Edwards of this city and two sisters, Mrs. P. C. Ross of this city and Mrs. Anna Kauffman of Cresco and two brothers, John W. of Sperry and Frank of Muscatine. The remains were brought to Wapello Saturday where funeral services were Sunday conducted by Rev. Joseph Hammond. Interment in the Wapello cemetery.
