Cone, Ia. Edward Crist was born in Westmoreland county, Penna., Oct. 4, 1842 and died at his home near Cone, Jan. 4, 1913, aged seventy years and three months. He came to Iowa in 1852 with his parents and has lived his entire life in this community. He was married to Miss Margaretta D. Litchenhouse, Aug. 30, 1874. There were four sons born to them, Edward, Adam, George and Charley. They all reside near Cone. He leaves to mourn his wife, four sons, six grandchildren, two brothers, Henry Crist of Corning and Geo. Crist of Muscatine and one sister, Mrs. Tillie Litchenhouse of Muscatine. The funeral services were held in the Reformed church at Cone Monday afternoon. The sermon was preached by the pastor, C. E. Ewing.
