The burial service of the remains of Mrs. Thomas Caves, a former resident of Columbus Junction took place at the Columbus City cemetery Friday afternoon. Mrs. Caves passed away at her home in Davenport Wednesday morning November 27, after a lingering illness of many months. She was born in Lynchburg, Ohio, February 27, 1856 and came to Iowa when a young woman. In the year 1877, she was united in marriage to Thomas Caves, of Columbus Junction and they made this place their home until 13 years ago, when they removed to Davenport. She is survived by her husband and six sons, William Caves of Canton, Ill., P. J. Caves of Iola, Kans.; J. E., R. E., A. F., and G. L. Caves of Davenport. Also four brothers, W. S. and Henry Hartman of Letts, L. L. Hartman of Columbus City and W. P. Hartman of Missouri and two sisters, Mrs. Nora Duncan of Portland, Ore. and Mrs. Mason Smoot of Powder Horn, Colo.
