Henry Brown was born Pike County, Ohio, January 21, 1829 and died at his home in Louisa County, Iowa, March 28, 1907. He was married to Sarah Foster June 11, 1855. To them were born four children. a daughter, Mary Priscilla, died September 10, 1857. There survive Mr. Brown, his wife, a son, Lornett, two daughters, Mrs. Henrietta Jones and Mrs. Margaret Crim and a foster daughter, Mrs. Frances Duncan. Mr. Brown has lived in Union township and at this place for a great many years; was one of our old settlers. He was a quiet, unassuming man, but an honest and a good one. He has been in poor health for some time, but his death came quite unexpected to the most of us. The funeral took place at the home, Friday, March 29, at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Services were conducted by Rev. R. D. Pool, of this place. Burial followed in the Foster cemetery.
