We regret to announce the death of an old and respected citizen of the county, which occurred this week; that of Jacob Super. Mr. Super was born in Pennsylvania October 12, 1831. He was married there and came to Iowa, buying a little farm in Elm Grove township forty years ago. This was his home until about five years ago when he disposed of his farm, since that time making his home with his sons, D. P of Pennsylvania, C. B., of Des Moines and J. A. of this place. Something over a year ago, his wife died. His health, which had not been rugged for some years, gradually grew worse after this event until, a few weeks since, it was found necessary to remove him to the hospital at Mount Pleasant for treatment. The end came Tuesday morning, January 15. Funeral occurs on Friday, at 1:30 p. m. at the U. B. church Columbus City, services conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. E. Hersh. Interment will be in the Columbus City cemetery.
