Our community was shocked this morning to learn of the accidental death of John Hancher, at the home of Harry Morse in Oakland township. He and a number of friends has gathered at Mr. Morse's to give him a surprise oyster supper. In some unaccountable way, during the festivities Mr. Hancher lost his balance, falling down a stairway and producing concussion of the brain. Mr. Hancher did not rally and death shorty resulted. He died about one o'clock this morning. He was an old resident of Columbus Junction, doing business here some years. He was married three times. Leaves one child, a son, by his first wife. His last wife survives him. His home was near Gladwin. His age was about 68 years.
