Mrs. Eunice Fox died at her home in Fredonia Sunday, January 21, after a short illness of pneumonia. Her maiden name was Allen and she was born in Canada, February 23, 1819, being almost eighty-seven years of age at the time of her death. She was married in Vermont in 1836 to C. B. Russell and to them four children were born, one dying in infancy. The others are George, of Los Angeles, California, Mrs. D. D. Mapes, of Fredonia and Charles of Cedar Rapids. Besides the children, she leaves a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She came to Iowa in 1850 and lived at Cedar Rapids for a number of years.

After the death of Mr. Russell she was married to James Fox, who died thirteen years ago. She has lived in Fredonia for many years and was universally loved and respected and she will be greatly missed by all. She was a member of the Methodist church and her funeral was held at the at church in Fredonia on Tuesday, January 23, at 10 o'clock a. m., conducted by her pastor, Rev. J. O. Kendrick, and she was tenderly laid to rest in the cemetery there.
