Our community was shocked Sunday morning to learn of the sad death of little Lucile Willmering, the result of an accident the evening before. Her mother had just placed a kettle of boiling hot water, to which she had added a lot of Lewis' lye and passed into another room for the mop, when little Lucille came in playing with her kitten. She turned to run without seeing the boiling water, fell over it and was fearfully scaled from chin to ankle. Drs. Hubbard and Morgan were called at once, but they pronounced her injuries past healing. She died about 9 o'clock Sunday morning after hours of intense suffering. The funeral occurred from the U. B. church Columbus city, Tuesday at 2 o'clock p. m., conducted by Rev. P. M. Orr, of the Reformed church. Burial in Columbus cemetery. Lucile was a brought affectionate little girl and her loss in a dreadful stroke to her parents. Four children, two sons and two daughters, all older survive her.
