Elizabeth Concannon was born in Indiana, March 5, 1836. She died in Fredonia, Iowa, June 4, 1905. The deceased was married to A. Ewing in 1852. To this union were born seven children, five of whom preceded the mother to the land of rest. The two still living are Edward, of Davenport and Miss Eva, of Letts. Both were present to do all they could for their mother in her last sickness. Mrs. Ewing lived almost all her life in Louisa County. The funeral services were held in the M. E. church of Fredonia, June 5, conducted by Rev. C. W. Reeder, assisted by Rev. Childress, of Letts. A large congregation were present to pay their last respects to one who was always ready to stand for Christ as her Savior. The remains were laid to rest in the Indian Creek cemetery by the side of her companion who died some years since. She died in the triumph of a living faith.
