page 4Morning Sun, January 16- Stephen Umphrey died on Sunday morning at his home west of Virginia Grove. He was injured in a runaway some time ago and never recovered. The date has not been set for the funeral as they are expecting a brother from Nebraska. It will probably be from the Oakland church.

The Spring Run correspondent tells of the death of Stephen Humphreys. Mr. Humphreys was injured while trying to stop a frigtened horse hitched by his bridle rein to a pole which he was dragged. It occurred at the Churchman stone quary, but no one saw just how it was done. He rode home, when medical help was called and seemed to improve for a week or so, when internal injuries developed, making surgical operation or two necessary. Mr. Humphreys was a good man and his loss will be deeply felt in the entire community. He was democratic candidate for the state legislature a few years since
