John Geiger killed. The people of Letts were started at the report of the accidental death of John Geiger, a citizen of that place, at Bucklin, Kansas, Thursday, December 29. Mr. Greiger and his wife had gone to Kansas to spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. Groff. It seems that Mr. Geiger had gone to the depot to meet his son-in-law who was expected in on the train. He was standing on the track and failed to notice a switch engine which was backing up. It caught him crushing out his life. The remains were brought to his home at Letts for burial which occurs today, Wednesday at 2 o'clock p. m. The service are to be in charge of the Masonic fraternity, of which he was a member. Mr. Geiger was an old soldier and almost seventy-five years of age.
