Saturday night, at about 11 o'clock, Mrs. Cornelia Stickney died at her home, with Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Duncan near this place. She had been in fairly good health until a day or two previous to her death, when she suffered from a stoke of paralysis, from which she failed to recover.

Mrs. Stickney was born in Waterville, N. Y., December 27, 1818, hence had obtained the ripe old age of eighty-five years. She came to Iowa in and early day and this continued to be her home until the end came. She leaves five children and other relatives to mourn her departure. The children are Mrs. Calista E. Carpenter, of Conesville; Mrs. Dora Lash, of Denver; C. J. Stickney, of New Boston, Ils; Orson H., of Spirit Lake, and H. A., of Brainerd, Minn. The funeral occurred on Monday, December 28, from the residence of Mrs. Dr. F. L. Darrow, a granddaughter, conducted by the Rev. J. C. Kendrick, of the Methodist church. Her home, during most of the time she lived in Iowa, was in Oakland township, where she was well known by all and very highly respected by all.
