Rosanna Williams was born May 21, 1840, in Ohio county, West Virginia, died at her home in Oakland township, October 15, 1903, age fifty-seven years, four months and twenty-four days. Came to Iowa in 1870 was married December 1st, the same year to George W. Whitham who died June 30, 1882. To this union was born six children of whom four are living, Mrs. Rosie Holland, Mrs Mae Forbes, Katie and George Whitham. Was married to Thomas Williams February 29, 1888. She was the youngest of a family of nine children; two brothers and three sisters survive her. She unitied with the M. E. church in her native state, coming to Iowa she united with the Church of Christ remaining a member until her death. Funeral service at the Big Spring Christian chapel Saturday 11 o'clock a. m., conducted by Rev. J. K. Ballou of Iowa City after which the remains were conveyed to the Swank cemetery to await the coming her Lord whom she served so faithfully during the greatest part of her life.
