It is seldom we are called upon to chronicle the death of a person whose passing away caused more sorrow and sympathy than that of Mrs. Susie Letts referred to in last weeks issue and which occurred on the evening of Wednesday, December 3. Just two months and one day before her husband was called suddenly away and not that of the mother followed so quickly that of the father, breaking completely up within two short months, a household into which death had never before entered was startling indeed. We had known Mrs. Letts from her early childhood. From girlhood through womanhood to use what we first knew her, "Susie Lacey," innocent, confiding, trusting, pure and true, a good honest and truthful girl and a noble woman. The funeral services were conducted Saturday at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Monroe Drew in a most touching manner. Interment followed at Grandview cemetery. Owing to the extreme inclemency of the weather, none of the ladies from this place dared to venture the drive. The remaining members of the family, Lottie, Florence and Howard, have not yet fully decided as to the future. Howard will probably return to his school work in Philadelphia before the holidays; the sister will try to secure rooms or a cottage nearer down town in order to be more convenient to their business as well as to have nearer neighbors.
