Letts, Oct. 21 - Mrs. E. Gates, north of town, died last Saturday of general debility, as she was nearly 80 y ears old. The funeral was held Monday at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. T. S. Pool of Mt Pleasant. Interment in the Jaynes cemetery.

Cedar Center, Oct. 21- Mrs. Eve Gates was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, February 26, 1822. She was united in marriage to Seth G. Gates in 1848. To this union was born six children, three sons and three daughters, two of whom have preceded her to the Promised Land. She was called into the Master's presences at 12:30 p. m., October 18, 1902. The funeral services were held at the Oak Grove Christian church, October 11th, at 11 o'clock a. m. Rev. T. S. Poole, of Mt. Pleasant officiating.
