October 3 death visited this community and removed from among us P. S. Miller. The cause of his death was heart failure. He ate supper about six o'clock and at their usual time, with his family retired to bed. About ten o'clock, his wife hearing an unusual noise, got up and lit the lamp, called the hired man, but by the time he got to his room, Mr. Miller was dead. Dr. English was sent for and said the cause of his death was heart failure.

Mr. Miller was born April 1, 1851, in Dodgeville, Des Moines county, Iowa; was the son of L. D. and Anna E. Miller, the eldest of a family of 13 children. Three brothers and six sisters are still living. He married December 11, 1887 to Minnie L. Cone. Five children were born to them, three of whom are living. He was a member of M. B. A. organization. In the death of Mr. Miller, the community loses a good neighbor and an honest, upright citizen, and his wife and children a kind husband and loving father. The funeral was held at the M. E. church in Conesville, Monday at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. John Potter. He was interred in the Conesville cemetery.
