Death has been claiming many of the older people in Concord, but with these ripened grain, the "flowers that grow between." Emma Margaret B. Diller was called to her home, March 8, at the age of 21 years and 8 months. Only a few months ago she had been among us in our Sunday school work and entertainments, happily taking part in all christian and social life. Our young people will remember her as prominent in our musical meetings only a short time since. But the Full Destroyer reached forth and took her from us. Her death was a very happy one. The patient love and attachment which should be manifest in all families, bound her very closely to the family circle. Some of her last expressions to her dear ones were very touching. Speaking of her going, she exclaimed; "Oh, its grand; isn't it grand?" as her bloodless hand was raised toward heaven. She claimed a promise from all to meet her in heaven, as she took the hand of each and sang, I'm going home, no more to roam etc." Truly the Lord blessed her dying hour and received her to himself. She was the daughter of Henry and Lorina Diller, of Concord. She gave her heart to God seven years ago and cast her lot with the congregation at Pleasant Grove Bethel. The funeral which occurred on the day following her death was largely attended. The Rev. F. W. Adams, of Columbus Junction conducting the services her own pastor, Rev. Wilson, begin quarantined in Columbus City. The pall bearers were Sheldon Reynolds, A. Kemp, Walter Kemp, Geo. Tucker and Frank Warnstaff.
