The many friends of J. G. Sellers will be greatly shocked to hear of his death, which occurred Tuesday morning, March 4, at 3 o'clock. It seemed that he was in his usual good health up to within a few days of his death. Appendicitis was the cause.

J. G. Sellers was born near Cairo, July 29, 1865. March 6, 1889, he was married to Jane Smyth. These four little children Bertha, Bessie, Jay and Willie, with the mother are now left to mourn the loss of husband and father, his death occurring at their home, near Cairo, Tuesday morning, March 4, 1902. Mr. Sellers was a good man and a fine citizen, but it is in the home circle where his death falls heaviest and will be irreparable. He met death with a forfeiture seldom exhibited in one who had so much to live for. He retained his full mental faculties to the very last moment, bidding his family and friends a solemn farewell before going. He was a good father, a loving husband and a kind neighbor and many a bitter tear will be shed at his untimely death. Besides his own family, he left a mother, four brothers and a sister to mourn his loss. He was a member of the Cairo lodges of I. O. O. F. and M. B. A.
