This community was shocked Monday evening to learn of the death of Richard S. McCormac at his home near Winchester, Virginia, which occurred very suddenly on the morning of that day. He was here on a visit only a few weeks since and seemed to be in very robust health for one of his years. He spent the great part of his life in this county, having come to Iowa in an early day an returning to Virginia only a few years since. At the earnest request of his friends here, his remains will be brought back to Iowa for burial beside his first wife, in the Lettsville cemetery. The funeral is announced to take place from the Methodist church, in Letts, on Friday, November 29.
