A gloom of sadness overcast the community of Grandview and vicinity as the news of the death of Mrs. Joseph H. Dodder was announced last week, the community thereby losing one of the kindest, worthiest and most patient of its people. The deceased was very highly esteemed by all who knew her, which was proven by the fact that all were ready to lend a helping hand in the suffer-of the past years, which were born with the greatest patience. We dare say none could have laid a fault or an act of unkindness before her.

Mrs. Margaret Stineman Dodder left this world for her bright and happy home with Jesus, Thursday, April 11, 1901. She was one of the five surviving daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Stineman, being born on the 21st of February, 1847. On the 10th day of August, 1867, she was united in marriage to Joseph H. Dodder, and a few years later became a member of the U. E. V. church. A short time before her death she repeated part of that beautiful hymn, the 23rd Psalm. and her last words were " Holy- Holy- Thine-Thine -for-ever-more." She leaves her husband, five children, four sisters and two brothers to mourn her loss. These are Edward H., Mrs. E. McGrew, Elizabeth, Anna and Myrtle; Mrs. R. O. Vibber, Mrs. H. Gast, Mrs. J. H. Benson and Mrs. J. Krahl; David and John. The funeral was held at the U. E. V. church Saturday, the 13th, at 10 a. m., Rev. Mr. Smith preaching the sermon. The remains were taken to the Grandview cemetery.
