Peter Bretz was born in Blanecht Darme--- Germany, December 7, 1814; died in---February 16, 1901, making him over 80 years of age. He first came to America in 1837, remaining here until he returned to the old country. ---to America in 1853. March 7, 1855 he married Catharine Cutcomp, ---children resulted from this union. --- died in their infancy and the youngest daughter in 1890. His other seven children survive him. Mrs. J. P. Gabriel, Mrs. E. K. Ga--, Mrs. Jasper Hall, Priscilla, J.H., E. D. and -- Bretz. Besides these are his -- Bretz, three nephews, John,--, Peter Bretz and 15 grandchildren whom live in Louisa county. He --on a farm near Columbus -- when he moved to town to -- remaining days in quiet. In 1840 he became a member of the brethren church of which he remained ---member until death. Services were held in the U. B. church --- conducted by Rev. A. --- assisted by Rev. Underwood. The interment in the ---cemetery followed.
