Bard, February 5- On last Sunday during the severe storm the death angel entered another home in our neighborhood and bore the gentle spirit of Mrs. Elizabeth Buchanan, after eight days of suffering. All was done that medical skill and human aid could do to save her but that dread disease of typhoid pneumonia was too much for the frail body.

Mrs. Buchanan was a kind, charitable neighbor, a true, loving mother. She leaves three children to mourn her loss, William, Harry and Miss Madie, all of our vicinity. Many of our neighbors were prevented from attending the funeral on account of the bad condition of the roads. Mrs. Buchanan's illness was short, but very painful. Her end was peaceful; about 6 p. m. she quietly breathed her last. She will be missed by all who knew her but mostly by her own family, her sons and her daughter in tender years will greatly miss the love and care of a mother. Dr. G. W. Younkin of Wapello conducted the funeral services at the house, after which all that was mortal was tenderly laid to rest beside her husband in the Long Creek cemetery, who only preceded her a little over two years.
