Catherine Jane Reeder was born in Louisa county, Iowa, march 22, 1839 and died at her home near Indian Creek August 8, 1897, aged 58 years, four months and 17 days. She was married November 23, 1856, to Mr. R. H. Edmondson who, with three sons and two daughters mourn the loss, in her removal of an affectionate and loyal wife and a loving, devoted and self sacrificing mother. Four children preceded the mother to the "Home of the Soul" Sister Edmondson was baptized in infancy by Bishop Hamline and in 1867 she was happily converted to God and united with the M. E. church at Fredonia. The funeral services were held at Indian Creek school house, August 9, at 2 p. m. conducted by her pastor, rev. B. M. Boydston. The body was laid to rest in the beautiful cemetery near by, to await the glad summons to resurrection and eternal life at the last day.
