A. M. Ewing was born in Montgomery county, Ohio, October 20, 1829. He passed to his eternal rest Friday evening, July 16, 1897, aged 67 years, eight months and 26 days. In the year 1842 he came with his parents to Louisa county, Iowa, where he resided until 11 years ago when he removed to Muscatine county where he lived until the time of his death. On December 5, 1852, he was married to Elizabeth Concannon. To them were born seven children, five of who preceded him to the better land. He leaves a loving wife, one son and one daughter to mourn the loss of a kind husband and father. On Sunday, July 18, at 11 a. m. the funeral was conducted by Rev. B. M. Boydston, the M. E. minister, at Fredonia church, after which the remains were interred in Indian Creek cemetery, by the side of his little ones who had gone before.
