Died at her home in Grandview, Iowa, May 2, 1897, Sarah Lacey wife of E. B. Lacey, aged 75 years and one month. Sarah ? Wilcox was born in Broad Abbie, N. Y. April 4 1833. At the age of ten years she removed with her parents to ? Ohio. She married Edwin B. Lacey, April 5, 1844. She was the mother of nine children five of whom with her husband remain to more. Thes? Curtis, P. Lacey of Wapello; Rhoda L. Sprauge of Council Bluffs, Pal? Lacey of Burlington; Susan A Letts and Edwin R. Lacey of Columbus Junction. Mrs. Lacey has been for nearly forty years a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral occurred from the Presbyterian church, Wapello, Wednesday. Rev. Buchanan preached a touching sermon. All the children were present. She was laid to rest in the Wapello cemetery by the side of one of her children buried years ago.
