Cockle Burr, Feb. 1 - Thomas D. Holland died at this home near Otter creek at 3 o'clock on Sunday, January 23, and was laid to rest in the Concord cemetery Sunday afternoon. He was born in Fayette county, Ohio, Jun 11, 1838, thus being at the time of his death 58 years, 7 months and 12 days old. He was twice married; the first time on September 6, 1871, to Mary Bozman, who died three years later, leaving two sons, Wm and Sam, who are still living. Later he married Hattie A. Smith, who with five girls mourn the loss of husband and father. He was a member of the M. E. church. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Loveall of Morning Sun and were held at the Concord church.
