Mrs. Phebe Ellen Willet was born in Indiana, September 12, 1832. She died at her home in Cairo, Iowa, July 10, 1894, aged 61 years, 9 months, 29 days. She was united in marriage to Isaac N. Willet, December 28, 1849. Of this union there were born eleven children, seven sons and four daughters. Eight of these children have passed over the river, beyond this vail of tears. Three sons and the father are left to mourn the loss of the good mother. Mrs. Willet united with the Free Methodist church in 1884. She was a great sufferer. Her protracted illness was born with patience as the kind hand of loved ones ministered to her wants. just before she left this world she ralled her family bade them goodbye, telling them she was willing to die and passed way. A large concourse of friends and neighbors attended her funeral which was conducted by the writer and shew as laid to rest in Columbus city cemetery. -John LeCordu
