Last Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock William Logan died at his residence in Elm Grove township. He was about forty-eight years old. Was married December 2, 1872, to Miss Louisa E. Tibbet. There were born to them ten children. Two boys and eight girls. One of his daughters is married, another preceded him to the better land. They moved to Elm Grove township a few years ago from Mount Zion and bought Mr. B. F. Coe's farm. The family were members then of the Cumberland Presbyterian church. Mr. Logan himself, an elder in that church. He was an industrious man, a very faithful husband, kind father and a food neighbor. He took great interest in the religious work of the neighborhood. Was for a time the superintendent of the Sabbath school in Elm Grove school house. He and his family, the first Sabbath of the year, united by letter with the Presbyterian church at Columbus Junction. His funeral took place from his residence at 11 p. m. The service was conducted by his pastor, Rev. W. Roland Williams, assisted by Rev. W. Black of Wyman. He had died in the faith, resting upon Jesus for his salvation and according to his desire the 23rd Psalm was sung at his funeral. A large concourse of friends had come together and all manifested their heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved family. The remains were buried at Spring Run cemetery. May the widow and children find in God their refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.
